We know that moving our bodies is good for us for so many reasons but at SLAM we are big advocates of group training, you might be wondering why that is - well here are some reasons!
Social Opportunity
Humans are social creatures, we thrive when we are in safe and supportive environments and bringing groups of humans together to work collectively toward their goals is an amazing social opportunity! Working out always feels better when you have fun, can chat about what’s on your mind and cheer each other on!
Support and encouragement from a coach
Small group training means that you get all the benefits of personalised coaching but without the price tag. It’s awesome to be able to train on your own but we can’t see ourselves the way a coach can and that feedback can be invaluable, plus having someone remind you that you can in fact do hard things can be all the encouragement you need to overcome whatever challenges you are facing!
Progressive Programming
Being part of group training at SLAM means that you get a progressive program to follow, this is created by Lyndsey who is a specialist coach and has been in the industry for 20 years! There is no cookie cutter approach here. Lyndsey analyses our members’ experience in each program block and uses that information to add things to the next program, this means that our members are being constantly challenged and progressing toward their goals. What’s even better about our group training program is that everything is delivered via a unique app that allows you to record your own progress and connect with other members!
Accountability
Having to book in and show up to a group session is one of the best ways to keep yourself accountable. Life is super busy and often very challenging, it’s so easy to self-sacrifice and put off taking any time for you. When you are part of a group training program you are less likely to cancel as you know people will be waiting for you or that someone else could have had your spot. The more you show up, the more you progress and the better you feel!
