A love letter to my people

This one is for all the good souls in my life. You know the ones, who feel like sunshine. Everyone deserves to find their people and today I want to give a shout-out to mine. Making friends as an adult is really hard, I totally recognise that and I want to say that if you are feeling isolated or alone and you’d love to connect with a community who really care about each other, then our door is always open and our kettle is always boiled. Come say hi, even if you aren’t able to be a member we are happy to share the good vibes of SLAM with you! 

I am grateful every single day for you, 

Not just for the easy stuff 

But for the awkward conversations 

The honesty 

The radical candor that would be so easily ignored 

You make it so much easier for me to be me

I don't feel like I have to hide 

All of me feels welcome

Light and dark 

When I'm with you I feel 

More brave

Like I have a warrior in my corner 

I can stand up for myself and what I believe in 

and I know that you believe in me too 

I know that when I'm blinded by my own perspective 

You'll open me up to the other side 

I know that when I win 

You'll be clapping the loudest 

And when I fall 

You'll lift me up 

When I'm scared 

I can say it 

Because you make me feel safe 

You feel like home
